Day 98–Opening Day of NC Farmer’s Markets!

Opening Day of the Summer Market Season!

Today was an amazing day at the farmer’s markets. Why? Because today is the opening day of the spring/summer season, which means more vendors, greater variety and lots of fresh, local food. We ventured out the Western Wake Farmer’s Market for their egg-stravaganza, which featured chickens, egg crafts, food demonstrations and lots of fresh farm eggs. It was a chilly morning, but sunny, and we enjoyed music from a harpist, face painting, fresh asparagus, fresh sausage from Coon Rock Farm, mozzarella cheese from Hillsborough Cheese Company and…STRAWBERRIES!!! Finally! I may even try my first canning experiment this afternoon by making strawberry jam!

Hope your market day is amazing!
